I'm a little nervous about my ability to correctly report and calculate dividend income, capital gains/losses, and adjusted cost base. I'm a retiree, and this is my first year as a (novice) DIY investor (ETFs and some bank stocks) within a self-directed non-registered account at Questrade. I used to use it (switched to SimpleTax because it's even cheaper) until a few years ago and liked it. ![]() Especially if you have investment income. UFile is cheaper, I think is the main reason. (I have to do federal and Quebec taxes.)Īre there any big differences (pros or cons) for DIY investors between Ufile - vs - TurboTax - vs - (other online products) ? I'm no maths wizard, and have never used a spreadsheet, so I'm looking for the clearest tax product with (hopefully) good customer support (not a bot) if I need it. ![]() I've been using TurboTax for many years, and would be very interested to hear why people here prefer UFile.
